Dianne M. Hansen Announces Retirement for Fall 2022
After serving nearly 30 years as an attorney, Dianne M. Hansen has announced her plans to retire in the Fall of 2022.
Dianne earned her Juris Doctorate (JD), with distinction, from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law. During this time, she was awarded the distinction “Outstanding Woman Law Graduate of 1992” by the National Association of Women Lawyers. Following a period as a trial attorney, Dianne relocated to Tucson, Arizona where she switched her field of practice to Elder Law, a new and emerging field at the time. In 2006, she returned to Missouri where she joined as of-counsel to Ozarks Elder Law (formerly Zerrer Elder Law), continuing her practice of Elder Law, where she remained for the next 13 years. Dianne joined The Elder Law Group in October 2019 as of-counsel until her retirement. Dianne, along with her former colleague Lois Zerrer, were the earliest and leading practitioners of Elder Law in Southwest Missouri.
Dianne has been a member of the Missouri Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), where she has served on the Missouri Chapter Board of Directors for many years, and was named the Vice-Chairman of the Missouri Bar Elder Law Committee. She has also received numerous awards for her contributions to the field of Elder Law and has been a frequent speaker on Elder Law topics before many community groups in both Springfield and Southwest Missouri as a whole. In addition, she was also a presenter for continuation legal education programs for Missouri Bar Association members.
We were privileged to have Dianne as an of-counsel attorney at our firm for the last three years. Her depth of knowledge in the area of elder law is unparalleled in our community. Over her nearly 30 years of practice, she has made a positive difference for countless clients. She has been not only a colleague, but a trusted friend to us. We wish her all the best in her retirement and look forward to continuing to serve all the clients of our firm.
